I have been in Education in South Africa for 27 years of which I have been Principal of two school for the last 10 years before relocating to Myanmar with my husband.

I hold a teaching qualification, majoring in teaching subjects Engineering Graphics Design, Art and Geography, as well as a Further Diploma in Education in Computer Science. I have an Advance Ceertificate in Principalship and also hold an honours degree, B.Ed (Hons), in Educational Management.

I am happy to be part of the faculty of Yangon Academy Early Childhood Center. I am passionate about teaching and enjoy the interaction with the pupils and developing them in an all-round education.

NAME: Cho Cho Htun
JOB TITLE: ECC Co-ordinator
Number of Years Experience: 12 years

I graduated with a Bachelor of Science (MATH) from Taunggyi University, Southern Shan State, and I achieved a certificate of “Teaching English to Young Learners and Teenagers (TEYLT)”from London Teacher Training College, as well as a certificate of “Teachers Exchange and Training (TexT) Project” between Myanmar educators and educators from Hawaii, USA, funded by the Suu Foundation. I completed the Intensive Training Course for Preschool Facilitators in 2012.

I am happy to work here at Yangon Academy Early Childhood Center, where focus is placed on learning through play, which will make a second home for our students.

NAME: Naw Mae May Htoo
JOB TITLE: Pre-KG Teacher

I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English from Yangon University of Education in 2011. I have obtained a Diploma in TESOL. I have completed a teacher training course as part of ‘The Youth Knowledge Sharing’- workshop program from the US Embassy American Center, as well as a certificate of “Teachers Exchange and Training (TexT) Project” between Myanmar educators and educators from Hawaii, USA, funded by the Suu Foundation.

I’ve completed the Intensive Training Course for Preschool Facilitators by Myanmar Education Research Bureau.

NAME: Priyanka Sharma
JOB TITLE: Pre-KG Teacher
Number of Years Experience: 6 Years

As a post-graduate of All India Management Association College, and a Diploma in Early Childhood Education, I have 6 years of teaching experience in Nursery and Kindergarten level.

This position enables me to provide the students with a ‘head start’ in mastering basic skills.

I am challenged to be creative, nurturing and most of all, patient.

NAME: Khin Khin
JOB TITLE: Nursery Teacher
Number of Years Experience: 8 years (MLA International School)
2 years (Yangon Academy ECC)

I have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science, as well as a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English. I’ve been a homeroom teacher for KG and Grade I since 2007. I have been working at Yangon Academy for 2 years. I also have a certificate of ‘Teaching English to Young Learners’ from the U.S. Embassy American Center.

I’ve completed my certification in Early Childhood Care and Development from the Myanmar Government.

I want to support my children to get a healthy self-confidence, a positive self-image, respect and concern for other children and adults.

NAME: Yu Yu Kyaw
JOB TITLE: Nursery Teacher
Number of Years Experience: 4 years

I have graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Child Development and Education from Miriam College, Manilla, Philippines. I hold a Diploma in Electrical Power Engineering from West Yangon Technology University, a Diploma in Social Work from Miriam College and a post ten Diploma from Mimahaw Education Foundation, Thailand. In addition, I also obtained a certificate in Early Childhood Care and Development from the Myanmar Government.

I have teaching experience at Secondary, Primary and Kindergarten levels.

As a Community Facilitator in the Philipphines it enables me to have the relevant experience and expertise in working with development issues, including child and adolescent development, as well as community development.

NAME: Nyein Nyein Aye
JOB TITLE: Pre-Nursery Teacher

I have graduated from Dagon University, majoring in a B.A. (ECO). I obtained my teacher training in “Emerging Opportunities in the ELT classroom” from the British Council. I have also completed a certificate of “Teachers Exchange and Training (TexT) Project” between Myanmar educators and educators from Hawaii, USA, funded by Suu Foundation.

I have a certificate in Training for Preschool Facilitators. I am busy with an ongoing Diploma in TESOL. I started as an Assistant Teacher at Yangon Academy, and have been teaching Pre-Nursery for the last 2 years.
