We have recently returned from a weekend of leadership training in Bangkok in which we explored the city and engaged in numerous team building activities. In the spring we will host other student leaders from Yangon’s international school community for a weekend of events designed to continue our leadership training. These experiences help us build the best possible climate for all YA students.

The One Heart Community Club

Yangon Academy has a thriving community service program that is student driven and involves the entire school. Several times a year, there are donation drives for books, food items, slippers, umbrellas, clothing and stationary that are given to poor monastery schools. Students also arrange fund raising events to support their program and are self-financed.Under the supervision of a teacher advisor, there is a weekly program organized by secondary students to visit a monastery for underprivileged children to run an energetic activity program and supply snacks. Yangon Academy promotes compassion and service to others. As part of community service, students gain important skills such as planning, fund raising, organization, creativity and mentoring.
